Many thanks to all members and volunteers of International Song Tao Charity Foundation for participating in Reaching with Love 8.0 held on 11 November 2019.

At 9.30am in the morning, all participants gather at Rumah Warga Emas Nacscom in Setapak. They worked together to carry the cooking ingredients and some prepared food to the dining hall of the old folks home. There are 18 people, including the carer, who live in this establishment. The elderly folks here are all capable of managing their daily living activities.

The committees and volunteers were setting up the tables and chairs to prepare for lunch with the elderly folks.

It is not very often that the elderly folks gather in the common place to have a meal together as they usually dine in their own room.

The elderly folks were happy to see the volunteers. Some of them were very eager to talk to the volunteers.

After preparing the ingredients, the volunteers invited the seniors to make dumplings together.

The experienced old lady was standing by the side to provide guidance to the volunteers on making dumplings.

The other group of volunteers would then help to cook the dumplings.

When the meal was ready, the old folks would go to the dining hall to get their food.

They took turn to take their own food and made sure that they took only the portion that they could eat so that the food would not go to waste.

Thanks to the good Samaritans who cooked the delicious meal for the old folks.

The committee members and volunteers started to take their meal after the seniors.

After the meal, the vice secretary Ms Ching Yi distributed some red packets on behalf of the president (Master Song Tao) to the old folks.

A simple act like goods donation, money donation, or even just to chat with the elderly folks can make them feel loved and appreciated by the society. It is also important for us to remember our responsibility towards our parents who had spent most of their lives taking care of us.
Let us all set a good example for the younger generation to keep this noble virtue in the society.
